FLOW RED+ is our latest advancement in Pure Water Filters to achieve MAXIMUM FLOWRATE - designed especially for use with RADIAL and DEEP-FRAME BRUSHES.
Most RO-DI systems are designed for pencil jets, and low-flow-rate rinse bars. We have proven that the higher the flowrate at the RADIAL and DEEP-FRAME brushes, with jetstreams directed exactly where you need them, combined with using The REACH-iT TECHNIQUE, the higher the hourly rate you can achieve (up to $450 an hour!!!)
Here are the amazing features that set FLOW RED+ apart from all other RO-DI systems for Window Cleaners :
1: THE SMALLEST FOOTPRINT
The base of FLOW RD+ is just 16" x 22" and, with the handle removed, FLOW stands just 32" tall ! (40cm x 55cm x 70cm). This means it can fit in the backseat of a car, or, lying down, in the trunk of a small car.
2: LIGHT WEIGHT
FLOW RED+ is just 50lbs (24kg) without water. One of the key design features of FLOW with regards to the weight is the ease to drain it, so it is not always loaded with water when lifting in, and out, of the vehicle.
3: PRESSURE GAUGE & TEMPERATURE GAUGE
Using the ON-OFF valve on the back panel, the Pressure Gauge is able to read both the 'Static Water Pressure' available from the spigot (tap), and the 'Operating Pressure' while FLOW RED+ is in pure water production mode.
This is critical information for the operator to understand the performance of RADIAL, helping you discern whether you will need to utilize a Booster Pump from one work site to another.
4: DUAL TDS METER
The Dual TDS Meter can give you the following data :
a) TDS from the spigot (tap) (TDS IN READING)
b) TDS from the DI TANK (the water you will use to clean the windows)
The DUAL TDS METER is protected in a robust housing.
5: SEDIMENT and CARBON FILTERS
FLOW RED+ has clear housings for separate Sediment and Carbon Filters so you can see the fouling of the filters. The Sediment Filter is a 10", 10 micron spun PP filter, and the Carbon Filter (to remove chlorine) is a 10" loose granulated carbon filter for increased flowrate.
Both filters can be replaced from our store, or with standard 10" filters (Block Carbon also works, but with a lower flowrate) from Home Depot or Lowes if you ever run out of spares.
6: 'ZERO PRESSURE' RO-MEMBRANES
The most important part of any RO FILTER is the membrane that removes the minerals from the water.
FLOW RED+ is fitted with the latest design of membrane. These 'Zero Pressure' membranes, when compared to the 'Ultra-Low Energy' (ULP) membranes are delivering 23% to 42% more flow rate than previous systems.
Depending on your local water quality and water pressure, you can expect to remove 90-98% of minerals from source water at zero cost.
7: EASY TO FILL DI TANK
The DI TANK is small and convenient to re-fill - see the video link below.
FLOW RED+ is structurally re-inforced so for transit and operation in the horizontal position.
8: EASY RO FLUSH
The FLUSH VALVE is located near the base, on the side of FLOW RED+ This valve is both to create the RO BACK PRESSURE (when closed) and RO FLUSH (when open).
Turn the valve 90º and FLOW will start in flush mode, clearing the build-up of minerals against the membrane wall, flushing them to 'waste'. A quick, low pressure FLUSH for 3-5 minutes at the end of each day will extend the life of the membranes. 'FLUSH' is achieved when the TDS OUT is the same as the TDS IN.
Turn the valve back 90º, and back-pressure will build up in the RO MEMBRANES, causing PURE WATER to flow from PURE OUT.
9: ADJUSTABLE HANDLE
In consideration that there are short techs and tall techs, we made the handle of FLOW telescopic - you can pull it to your preferred length to get that 'balance' when you do need to move FLOW to a work zone.
FLOW RED+ handle has 3 different 'height settings' with 'knurled' markings on the handle to prevent rotational slipping of the handle.
Pull the handle completely out, swap it for the T-HANDLE, and you can store FLOW RED+ horizontally in the tightest places.
10: ANTI-THEFT DEVICE
After noticing several RO's stolen from Window Cleaners, we decided to add an anti-theft deterrent. This combination lock cable system means you can secure FLWO RED+ to your vehicle, or to a tree if you ever leave it unattended !
11: TOOL BUCKETS
When you are a water fed window cleaner, you need a place for the 'little bits'. FLOW RED+ has twin 'tool buckets' for things like spare parts, universal taps, your blade for touch-ups, a microfibre cloth, etc
These tool-buckets ensure you are efficient, not continuously running to and from your vehicle.
15: PUMP HOUSING (pump optional)
The performance of all RO's when the inlet water is at 39ºF is HALF that of the same membrane at 75ºF. This is due to the viscosity of the water being heavier and reducing the number of molecules that can pass through the tiny holes in the membrane wall.
The performance of RO Membranes is directly related to the pressure difference across the membrane. We lose flowrate the more hose and tube we use, and we need an additional 5PSI of pressure per 10ft vertical height to overcome the effect of gravity.
To overcome all these issues, you can either use a BUFFER TANK with DELIVERY PUMP or a BOOSTER PUMP. The BOOSTER PUMP (eg. WAYNE PC4, LIBERTY 331, or ROTARY VANE 1/2HP can be fitted in the cavity under the DI TANK on FLOW RED+.
An economical 'Booster Pump' is:
1. WAYNE PC4 Transfer Pump (available at ACE Hardware)
2. LIBERTY 331 with Aluminum Casting.
16: LOADS OF ACCESSORIES
We have a LONG LIST of items you also need, all included with your FLOW RED+.
WHAT IS AN RO ?
A Reverse Osmosis membrane allows water to travel through it in one direction, from a higher concentration of minerals to a lower concentration of minerals.
It does this by pressurizing the membrane, and 'forcing' the pure water molecules through the wall of the membrane, and forcing the concentrated mineralized water out a hose to waste.
How this applies to window cleaners, is the permeate (the pure water) is either spot-free or nearly spot-free. If it is nearly spot-free, pass this water through DI RESIN and it will be completely demineralized.
WHEN to BUY FLOW, and WHY :
The ideal, and foolproof filter to de-mineralize water is actually DI RESIN. The problem is that DI RESIN is a consumable, with the cost varying in proportion to both the flow rate and the TDS (the amount of minerals in the water needed to be removed).
We use an RO as a PRE-FILTER to RO to reduce the cost of DI Resin WHEN THIS MAKES GOOD BUSINESS SENSE.
You do NOT need an RO just because your TDS is over 150ppm.
You need an RO if your annual DI RESIN cost is projected to be over (say) $1500 - and then, you can reasonably expect to get a Return on Your Investment in one year. If you are happy with a ROI in 2 years, then a DI cost of $1500 per annum will be the mark for you to choose FLOW.
UPGRADE to FLOW RO-DI if YOU:
1 Are spending over $1500 per year in DI COST
2 Have a local TDS over 300ppm and you are cleaning external windows regularly
3 Are cleaning mostly 1-3 stories
